DC ZiNE Fest 2024 (Entry 1)
hello world wide web space explorer. . .
I hope the year has been going in your favor.
So, for many years I've been stagnating in my attempts to express creative output. Building momentum is not easy. From that thought onward, I decided to give myself a challenge and I applied to D.C. Fest with thoughts about it beginning a year ago. I've been a returning attendee of the festival and it brought me many great memories with the zines I've collected.
Side note :
When I was in elementary school I was part of the school's newspaper team, a new creative branch of student government(I felt so official, but mind you we were all goofy little kids). I really enjoyed computers then in a more playful way. Around the early 2000s, I was in 3rd grade taking computer classes and learning things that now pay 100,000s. But- That's not what mattered then. It was fun making flyers and typing up columns of interesting stuff a kid would find during their afternoon after school. I loved to roll around, read, watch cartoons, poke at dirt, and think about what to draw for the weekly comic special.
Jumping back in:
So, I'm revisiting older passions that just felt like a natural flow for me, and I'm finding out that's just how I tick.
anyway, I have ideas- and now the struggle is making them because it's possible. Stay with me while I make it possible.
Thanks, pal.
